A part of me is missing...

So a couple of weeks ago, well exactly 3 weeks today, I lost a part of myself that I will never ever regain…That’s right I lost my ever so precious tonsils ( I know you were all thinking that’s what I was going to say) even though these little buggers have been the cause of about 6 months of discomfort ranging from tonsillitis to sinus infection, I think I’ll miss the little guys.. I mean they have been apart of me for almost 25 years… So I found out 3 weeks ago March 14th to be precise that the only way to cure me was to cut out my tonsils. Oh don’t worry the Doctor showed me a video of him doing a tonsillectomy on another patient of his, and I guess what they do is they take little tong things and kinda pull your tonsil away from you throat and then take this knife that cauterizes as it cuts ( they don’t use stitches anymore, because this would make you more prone to bleeding after the surgery) Ya if my throat didn’t hurt before it sure did after seeing this video. So after the appointment I go to schedule the surgery and the soonest available date is March 17th, so even though this is a mere 3 days away I decide to do it because Im a wuss when it comes to surgery so the longer I wait the more of a chance I wont do it.. I know some of you might be thinking oh tonsils, I got those out when I was 5 and it was cake.. Well there is a huge difference of you getting your tonsils out when you are 5 verses 25, it is way more painful because your tonsils and veins and muscles that are all right there are more developed.. So im going to be honest, It was a pretty painful surgery.. Try to image the worst sore throat you have ever had and times that by 10 and then also add on it that hurts extremely bad to talk, swallow, and especially sneeze or cough, and you bleed out of your mouth (that was a little discomforting..) well I guess that its your throat not your mouth.. Now don’t get me wrong im not trying to make anyone feel bad for because I had a lot of really awesome people helping me out. Ill give some shout outs. My Dad came and picked me up at my house, gave me a blessing ( because I was nervous to be put under) and drove me to and from the hospital and when we got home after the surgery he went to the store for me and grabbed me some Jello and chicken broth and stayed with me and watched a movie, He took a whole day off for me and had to push a bunch of contractors back just for little ol me, thanks Dad, I love you. Also when I got home after the surgery Shanna was there and she was really helpful, thanks Shan ( she helped me all week as well) and then the same day I got home from the hospital my friend Nicole stopped between classes to come see me and see if I needed anything ( and she would check up on me almost every day as well) Thanks Nicole . And then Jess was there for me when she got off work and my Dad was gone.. Jess had to witness me throw up blood twice, which I’m sure she didn’t enjoy but she was there for me anyways and she helped me a lot for the whole week I was home as well. Thanks Jess. And also Rhett stopped by a couple of times to make sure I was doing ok, thank Rhett, and my visiting teachers did as well and brought me some popsicles And then my step mom came down and took me for a ride down state street in the middle of the week.. Some of you may think this is lame but I thought it was so awesome because I hadn’t been out of the house in 4 days, thanks Mom.. And also on the day of the surgery, that night Jared stopped by after work bearing gifts, he brought me fruit popsicles, sherbet ice cream and he had went and got me some really comfy pajama pants from Express ( because I was looking for some on Saturday and couldn’t find any) and a jacket to match, and to say the least I loved them! Jared was great, he came over everyday after work (he usually works till 7 or 9 pm) and on the days he didn’t have to work, even though he really needed to be studying all week for his Bio Chem test. But he came over anyways to take care of little ol me and to make sure I had everything I needed, Thanks a ton
Jared for being so sweet. About 2 ½ weeks ago Jared and I went to get Sushi and it was the first time I could actually eat real food and I was extremely happy about that.. And if anyone is interested in a great weight loss program and is freakishly weird because they like pain, you should get your tonsils out.. I lost 13 pounds.. The pain medicine is however a definite perk ( no im not a druggy now) you will definitely need to take those babies 4 times a day.. Anyway I could go on and on and on so Ill just stop there, because I feel like this is already really long.. There Jess, I wrote about my tonsils

I could use a tonsilectomy. Diet and excercise is getting a little boring. Where did you lose 13 lbs from? Did they remove your femur along with your tonsils?

I'm sorry that you had to endure the pain. Sounds like it sucked. I'm glad that you had such wonderful people around to take care of you.

I loved seeing you last weekend. I'll come up again soon. Take care!

Come to the fights on April 18th!

The End

I too am sorry for the pain--however, future comfort to come right? No more sore throats!

no bueno... but hopefully no more pain at all! I miss you too! Is this Jared guy a "good" friend?
