California!

I know, I know, I suck at creating blogs...
A little bit ago me and Jared went to California to visit his best friend Tim and wife Sandy and the 2 cutest little girls, Kennedy and Cams.
We had so much fun! Jared took us to Korea town to eat (that's where he served his mission)I actually tries Kimshi (That rotten cabbage folks, apparently Koreans love it!) ( this is a picture of Kimshi)

Ya.. This is how the bring the fsh out to you.. All intacted and deep fried..
This is one of my favorite pictures.. Kennedy really likes that rice.

Before dinner that night we went to Universal City, which was fun

Jared and Tim Also did some surfing while we were there.

I collected sea shells on the beach because it was windy and a little bit cold for me..

We were on the beach at sunset and it was so beautiful

This is Tim and Jared practicing their praying mantis..

We flew out of San Dieago and we got there a little early so we went down to the Harbor because they have a bunch of old ships you can go through. It was really cool. They have the ship that they used in the movie "Master and Comanders"

They also had a really cool submarine..

This is me trying to take a picture of me and Jared.. It didnt really work out..

All in all it was a really fun trip, and I had a blast spending time with Tim and Sandy and Kennedy and Cams. Also Tim and Sandy let us crash with them which was really nice of them. It was a great Trip!

SO it's been awhile..

Ok so I know it has been forever since I’ve written anything.. Ok even forever might be an understatement.. so there is a ton that has happened.. I no longer work in Layton, however I do miss the peeps I worked with.. I now work downtown Salt Lake and I really enjoy it. The people I work with are great and really nice… And still have the lizard.. I dressed him up as Batman in honors of “The Dark Knight”, which Jared and I thought was awesome with a capital A! We saw it at a drive in with our friends Bart and Carrie ( I really want to go see it again at an IMAX theatre, Jess & Beau saw it at one and said it was great!) Let see what have Jared and I done this summer… We went up camping with my family for my step moms family reunion and that was a blast! Except for that Hayden flung a flaming marshmallow on Jared’s foot and burnt it pretty good.. Jared and I went on a four wheeler ride
and we almost got attacked by a devil cow.. No seriously this cow was evil.. We were going up this trail and the cow was standing in the middle of the road so we thought that it would just move, so we eased forward slowly and it just sat there and glared at us, he was getting ready to charge, I swear. So Jared casually put the four wheeler in reverse and we booked it out of there.. below is a very blury picture of the devil cow, but look closely and you can see it's devil horns..Jared also whittled us some really cool walking sticks.. All of my Aunts were trying to get Jared to give the walking sticks to them instead of keeping them for us.. It didn’t work though.. On Sunday when we were coming home we had to book it because it was Jared’s dad’s birthday and we wanted to make it back in time for dinner, its always so much fun to be around Jared’s sisters and his dad. So all in all it was a really good weekend. We also went up to Bear Lake with my family and Jared’s little sister Kaydee came with us..Oh my gosh I love this girl! She is so much fun and not to mention hilarious! We’ve been to Lagoon a couple of times. Last time we went with Jared’s sister Jessica and her little girl Emma (her husband Kyle was working) his other sister Emily and her husband and little boy Brent and Damon and Kaydee was there as well, and that was a lot of fun. We’ve been to a couple of weddings this summer, 3 of Jared’s friends have gotten married this summer. Also Jared’s really good friend Tim and his wife Sandy are in town with their two little girls Kennedy and Camyron, which Camyron is only like a month old and she is soo adorable. So we went out to eat with them the other night to CPK and it was a lot of fun and good to hang out with them. They are really great and fun! About 3 weekends ago I went to Las Vegas to visit my mommy! She was down there for a tax convention and she was staying at my Aunt Gail’s house so I flew down for the weekend, Jared was going to come but he couldn’t get off work so it ended up being a girls weekend which was fun even though I missed Jared  Oh and what is Vegas without drunk people.. I was proposed to in Vegas by a complete stranger, I might add he was drunk…Flattering as it was I had to turn the poor fella down…Im already taken.. Another exciting thing that happened this summer.. Emily (Robinson) is got married on August 30! Hooray! I saw your bridal pictures Emily, and they are absolutely beautiful! Clayton is a lucky man.. And something not so exciting about this summer, well I guess it is exciting just not fun.. I started going back to school. Yep that’s right, I’m finally finishing up school. I probably wouldn’t have done it without Jared though. I’ve always wanted to go back to school but lacked the motivation to do it but Jared help push me to get back into it. I have a really great boyfriend who treats me better than I deserve. I consider my so extremely lucky to have him. One more fun thing we did (there are a couple of others but for the sake of time and space I’ll have to mention them some other time) Jared and I went up to Evanston WY with our friends Bart and Carrie (newly weds might I add, they got hitched the same day as Em) for the Rodeo and fair and that was a blast. I got to wear cowboy boots! Well cowGIRL boots I guess. It was a lot of fun, it was like a mini vacation that was really really cheap. To the left is a picture of me and Jared in Evanston right before we went to the Cowboy bar to go dancing..
Well that’s all for now, I think my next post will be about mine and Jareds birthdays and I'll post more pictures as well

*Sigh*

So this weekend I watched “Becoming Jane” and “Pride and Prejudice” which are both movies that I love! I absolutely adore the main male characters in these two movies; Thomas LeFroy, played by James McAvoy

and Mr. Darcy, played by Mathew MacFadyen.

When you first see the movies you will probably find that you do not find these two leading characters very attractive, but you will notice that as the movies go on they become more and more attractive by the minute.. My favorite lines that these two leading characters say are: For Thomas LeFroy it is when he and Jane are outside talking after he has offended Jane once again and he is upset that Jane is going to marry Mr. Weasley and so Jane kisses Tom and Tom tells her that he has no money and no property and depends entirely on his Uncle and can not yet marry but she has to know how he feels then he says (which is my favorite line)>“I am yours Jane, I am yours heart and soul” ( doesn’t that just give you goose bumps, it does me..) ok I actually have 2 favorite lines the other is after Jane finds out that Tom is engaged and Jane and her brother are walking through the forest and they run into Tom and Jane congratulates Tom on his engagement, very snidely, and Tom tries to offer an explanation and just kind of gives up and says “I can not do this” and runs over and kisses Jane and then says “Jane, I have tried! I have tried and I cannot live this lie.. can you? Can you Jane” and then later says“What value would there be in life, if we are not together?” (goose bumps once again…)
Then my favorite line from Mr Darcy is when he follows Elizabeth after church to that really cool pavilion and he confesses his love (even though he insults her first) but my favorite part is where he blurts out “I love, I love you. most ardently.”( I totally melted when he said this) Ok so on this one I also have two favorite lines. The second is at the end where Elizabeth cant sleep and she goes out for a walk in the early morning and low and behold who is that walking out of the mist? The one and only Mr. Darcy and he aproches her and and they both say they couldn’t sleep then Mr. Darcy says “You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I'd scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. And I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” (that’s right goose bumps again)

Maybe I just love these lines so much because I’m a hopeless romantic and could only imagine someone saying something even remotely close to those passionate, heart felt, yearning words to me.. One can only hope..

A part of me is missing...

So a couple of weeks ago, well exactly 3 weeks today, I lost a part of myself that I will never ever regain…That’s right I lost my ever so precious tonsils ( I know you were all thinking that’s what I was going to say) even though these little buggers have been the cause of about 6 months of discomfort ranging from tonsillitis to sinus infection, I think I’ll miss the little guys.. I mean they have been apart of me for almost 25 years… So I found out 3 weeks ago March 14th to be precise that the only way to cure me was to cut out my tonsils. Oh don’t worry the Doctor showed me a video of him doing a tonsillectomy on another patient of his, and I guess what they do is they take little tong things and kinda pull your tonsil away from you throat and then take this knife that cauterizes as it cuts ( they don’t use stitches anymore, because this would make you more prone to bleeding after the surgery) Ya if my throat didn’t hurt before it sure did after seeing this video. So after the appointment I go to schedule the surgery and the soonest available date is March 17th, so even though this is a mere 3 days away I decide to do it because Im a wuss when it comes to surgery so the longer I wait the more of a chance I wont do it.. I know some of you might be thinking oh tonsils, I got those out when I was 5 and it was cake.. Well there is a huge difference of you getting your tonsils out when you are 5 verses 25, it is way more painful because your tonsils and veins and muscles that are all right there are more developed.. So im going to be honest, It was a pretty painful surgery.. Try to image the worst sore throat you have ever had and times that by 10 and then also add on it that hurts extremely bad to talk, swallow, and especially sneeze or cough, and you bleed out of your mouth (that was a little discomforting..) well I guess that its your throat not your mouth.. Now don’t get me wrong im not trying to make anyone feel bad for because I had a lot of really awesome people helping me out. Ill give some shout outs. My Dad came and picked me up at my house, gave me a blessing ( because I was nervous to be put under) and drove me to and from the hospital and when we got home after the surgery he went to the store for me and grabbed me some Jello and chicken broth and stayed with me and watched a movie, He took a whole day off for me and had to push a bunch of contractors back just for little ol me, thanks Dad, I love you. Also when I got home after the surgery Shanna was there and she was really helpful, thanks Shan ( she helped me all week as well) and then the same day I got home from the hospital my friend Nicole stopped between classes to come see me and see if I needed anything ( and she would check up on me almost every day as well) Thanks Nicole . And then Jess was there for me when she got off work and my Dad was gone.. Jess had to witness me throw up blood twice, which I’m sure she didn’t enjoy but she was there for me anyways and she helped me a lot for the whole week I was home as well. Thanks Jess. And also Rhett stopped by a couple of times to make sure I was doing ok, thank Rhett, and my visiting teachers did as well and brought me some popsicles And then my step mom came down and took me for a ride down state street in the middle of the week.. Some of you may think this is lame but I thought it was so awesome because I hadn’t been out of the house in 4 days, thanks Mom.. And also on the day of the surgery, that night Jared stopped by after work bearing gifts, he brought me fruit popsicles, sherbet ice cream and he had went and got me some really comfy pajama pants from Express ( because I was looking for some on Saturday and couldn’t find any) and a jacket to match, and to say the least I loved them! Jared was great, he came over everyday after work (he usually works till 7 or 9 pm) and on the days he didn’t have to work, even though he really needed to be studying all week for his Bio Chem test. But he came over anyways to take care of little ol me and to make sure I had everything I needed, Thanks a ton
Jared for being so sweet. About 2 ½ weeks ago Jared and I went to get Sushi and it was the first time I could actually eat real food and I was extremely happy about that.. And if anyone is interested in a great weight loss program and is freakishly weird because they like pain, you should get your tonsils out.. I lost 13 pounds.. The pain medicine is however a definite perk ( no im not a druggy now) you will definitely need to take those babies 4 times a day.. Anyway I could go on and on and on so Ill just stop there, because I feel like this is already really long.. There Jess, I wrote about my tonsils

Guilty Pleasure Update

Ok so update.. I finished all 4 seasons of The O.C. and honestly I loved it! I know, it’s a tv series about a bunch of high school kids in Newport how could I like that? Well I did, it was addicting. I think I probably watched all of season 3 the week I got my tonsils taken out (which I will talk more about in my next post coming up this weekend.. I know you’re excited) Every episode was packed full of drama, sometimes its entertaining to watch drama but not live it of course.. There was always something going on between Ryan and poor picked on Marissa, and Sandy and Seth are always funny and good for a laugh and Summer is a somewhat bratty yet caring person.. And Julie well lets just say Julie is interesting. And you cant help but love Kirsten aka KiKi. And trouble seems to follow Jimmy Cooper, poor guy cant catch a break. Its was actually interesting to watch how the tv series depicted “rich” social scene in Newport, and Im willing to bet its extremely close to reality.

**side note - Watching The O.C. made me miss that area of California “the beach” cities, I need to go back soon..

New Guilty Pleasure

What is my new guilty pleasure you ask? Well, don't judge me, it the TV series The O.C.. I know, but I started season 1 on Sunday with Jared and our friends Bryce and Nicole and now I'm addicted! I've only watched the first 2 discs of the 1st season (Ive seen a couple of the newer ones however) and have 5 more to go but honestly I'm looking forward to it. So I'll keep you updated as I get further into it and let you know whats going on, who's dating who, and who's secretly dating who.. ooo the mystery, the deception...

Saturday, February 9, 2008

So it's 1:30 in the morning and I’m sitting here eating an root beer float, because hey why not, and trying to figure out what my new post should be.. Note to self, you shouldn't use warm root beer in an root beer float because it will melt the ice cream. Anyways where was I? Oh right, so I’m not sure what this post should be about so it is probably going to be one of the most random posts you've ever read. I partially blame jessifer19 because she is suppose to be assigning me topics if she sees I’ve gone a little bit with out a new post, but I still love her :). So can anyone else believe it is February already or should I say Valentines day, oooo. Where the heck did January go? I realized that I never really posted anything about New Years Eve, which is a holiday I don’t really get excited for anymore but I have to admit that this New Years was extremely better than last year and a lot more fun. First off we went to a party at John Maxims house where there were so many people you could barley move. And if you thought it was hard just to walk through the house it became impossible to move on the dance floor. In fact there were so many people in there the floor broke! I’m not even lying. Despite all the people though it was a fun party. Afterwards a group of us headed over to Hilda's house and hung out until all hours of the night, which was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from Hilda on New Years:

Ok so those are some of the pictures from New Years. I was so freaking tired by the end of the night though> I must be getting old, you know I am in my 25th year and a girl work told me that your 25th year is the down slope, thanks Erin.. So lets talk about February now.. I have some picture form work this week, but I took them from my camera phone so they are a little smaller. but I’m going to have to explain them. The first one happed yesterday.. I was walking down the stairs and I tripped on the stairs ( I know surprise) and the freaking heel on my favorite brown heels broke off. It didnt just crack it it broke it off , O F F, broke off.

Ok so every once in awhile we get a little bored at work, well I guess not bored we need a break and this is how we take it...All of us in the Draw Dept. had ourselves tattooed with the "paid from interest reserve" stamp. I didn’t even know I had interest reserve, I’m not even sure who bought me.. As for the Lizard, I guess our little friend the lizard is suicidal. Poor little guy he must be stressed. Jared offered to take the little guy to lunch to help him out a little. Hopefully he does better

Side note. at the first I say that I was writing this at 1:30 in the morning but the post date might say 8:30 or something. Well about that I did start this post last night but I was having a little trouble with the pictures going where I wanted them to, pretty much me and my computer was fighting so I got frustrated and fell asleep because it was 3 in the morning.

Honest Mistake..???..

So today for lunch I decided I wanted a little Chili’s and you know since I get so busy at work, and being the responsible employee I am, I decided to order take out. So I ordered my take out and they told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes. So when the time had passed I got in my car and headed to Chili’s.. So I walk in and tell the girl I had ordered some take out and she asks me “Do you need a menu?” and I’m thinking to myself, hello I just told you I ordered some take out, little did I know…. So I said “No I already ordered it” she replies “Is it the oriental chicken wrap” and I say “No, it’s the kids meal chicken crispers” and so this girl looks at me really weird like I’m some kind of idiot and replies “Umm we don’t have chicken crispers here but Chili’s does” and so in a confused tone I ask “Where am I?” then I look around and notice all the Applebee signs so the girl replies “Applebee’s…” (you dumb blonde, I’m sure is what she was thinking) So I’m extremely embarrassed and most of you that know me when I get embarrassed I don’t know what to say and I just make it worse. So I tell this girl “its been a long day” (the easiest excuse to not make me look like an idiot, but I’m sure it didn’t work) so I’m still extremely embarrassed and to make it even worse as I walk out the door I say “but you guys have good food also….” Seriously Kathleen, way to make yourself not look like a bigger idiot.. All in all though it was completely and totally hilarious. As soon as I got outside I started laughing at myself and promptly called my friend Rachel and told her, who also thought it was hilarious. And as soon as I got back to work I instant messaged Rhett and told him, who I’m sure got the biggest kick out of it (he actually told me that it was so funny I needed to write a blog about it..) In defense of myself though, it was a long morning and Chili’s and Applebee’s both have red signs, so I feel it was an honest mistake.. You know what, don’t judge me..

See same color...

Fun in the sun!

So for all of you who read my last blog "Aruba, Jamaica.." then you know that I have just recently gotten back from a cruise in the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica mon.. For those of you who didn't read it.. I just got back from a cruise to the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica mon.. :) I loved every minute of it! I got soft served ice cream cone at 3:00 in the morning, not because I was hungry but because I could. It was nice to have that kind of freedom.. Honestly I wish I was still on the cruise ship in 90 degree sunny, beautiful weather. *Sigh* Well I have a lot of pictures but I think I'll follow Jess' lead and do this really cool new slide show thingy. I'll try to post the pictures that Jess didn't. So if you want to see more than the ones I have (because believe me there are a ton more) then check out Jess' blog. There's a link to hers blog on my page just over to the right.. Hope all is well and 2008 will be great! Enjoy!
